During a little creative spike after painting "Carnelian", I went ahead and painted this one, too. A bit on the simple side, she was mostly done for fun, and to fit an oddball frame I bought a few weeks ago. She will be travelling to art shows this autumn, or can be bought directly from me. In the event she is purchased while at an art show you will be given a full refund or offered another painting of your choice in her place.

The leaves are starting to turn, the night air is crisp and the mountain view just outside my bedroom window is shrouded in fog most mornings. Autumn must be swiftly on the way, and I was itching to paint an autumn fae. It just so happened that I was also itching to paint faeries themed after some stones I recently bought (carnelian is an orange-red, or "autumn brown" stone), and FAE Forum is having an "autumn" themed art show next month. It all worked out, though I'm not sure I'd paint this many leaves again, at least not for a while.

I've had some larger paper for a while but wasn't sure I really wanted to work quite so large with watercolors. It turned out to be a lot of fun and I got to work all the details into this portrait of a dragoness that my inner perfectionist desired.

Sort of a girly dragon, but the only one in my mind, since I don't usually paint dragons. With my mail-in deadline for DragonCon drawing near, I only had a couple of days to finish this one, and didn't get to detail it quite as much as I wanted to.

This sassy little fae was inspired by a conversation I had with my grandfather some time ago. She is matted in a yellow picture mat and framed in a Hemlock wood frame. She will only be available at DragonCon, and if she does not sell there, she will go with me to OryCon. She will not be available online. She will also be traveling to Faerieworlds.

This is a beautiful painting that is already matted in a green picture mat and framed in a weathered gray wood frame. The frame was built using the weathered (but still very sturdy and smooth) boards of a fence which once stood alongside my family's home. My grandfather built it just for this painting and the edges have been cut ornately and painted with a metallic copper paint that matches the metallic copper accents on the witch's leaf necklace and other scattered copper accents. It is also embellished with a little glitter and signed on the front and back.

My second watercolor painting, inspired by my fear of attempting traditional media. I am always convinced that I can't draw, for whatever reason, and when I was first starting watercolor, I would give up before I even got started. I finally overcame that fear and while I see a lot of errors in this painting, I still really like her. She is framed in a black aluminum frame, matted in a coordinating gray-blue picture mat, and the frame does include glass. Because of the glass, special shipping precautions have to be taken for this painting, and those extra costs are included in the painting price.

I kept thinking I needed to paint more mermaids and one day I just sat down and started drawing one. She is embellished with metallic paint and glitter, matted in a blue-green picture mat and framed in a custom-built frame made from wood salvaged from our old fence.

My fourth watercolor painting was a gift for my mother. She is an Aries and her favorite color is purple, so I painted this little faerie in purple tones just for her. She was never for sale, but prints are available for purchase.

This was my third watercolor painting. She found a home in record time through an eBay listing. She's still one of my favorites and sometimes I regret having sold her, but I am glad that someone else is enjoying her now!

My first watercolor painting, and one that I am still really proud of. I also used watercolor and colored pencil to add some texture and small details to it. It was matted and framed similarly to "Afraid to Fly", but sold at RadCon, the first time it was displayed.
